Circle of Pats

Had quite a strange dream last night.


It started to rain in my old third period class in AP Chinese where there was a substitute who didn't care at all what is happening. Then, someone reminded me Asian club had a meeting today in the 200s wing so I set out once the bell rang. Somehow, I had a watch that kept the number of steps I walked and it said 79 miles or so for some reason. Someone was like "What you don't have a Pokewalker!?" I left the room. I was carrying two bags as usual, and I walked through the back of the school near the portables. It was raining very hard, and water didn't seem to drain properly. Everything is muddy. There was heavy construction where the portables were, and I tried to walk under the overhangs they setup for passerbys in construction areas. Water leaked profusely onto my books and I was frustrated. I finally walked to the end when it suddenly stopped raining, where I saw a service learning club. I waved high to who I thought was my old history teacher, but it wasn't. He gave a speech on how it was important to be a proactive member of the community, and by not participating , you are putting yourself in a virtual jail. I looked around. Somehow I am in a parking lot a lot like the northern plaza of Pacific Commons. I walked on past Best Buy. I met the Asian Club group. Who was giving a presentation. The girl presenting logged onto her laptop with "Daikyon" and showed a fundraiser at YoSwirl. The advertisement showed that I got a discount after buying a cup (79 c per ounce). Then I woke up.


I typed this up on my iPod so it probably has many errors. Also it was too early to think clearly so it might be incoherent. 79 c per ounce is too expensive. It's really only 35. Also I don't know who Daikyon is in real life. How does my mind comes up with this stuff ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

My mind is turning in circles.

In case you were wondering, the line with the three balls was an analogy I heard from another teacher:

The topic sentence is a support bar, from which details, the balls, hang. (Don't make innuendo jokes please.)

However, by placing the topic sentence in the end...there's not support. In the end, my friend just ended up drawing these "balls" every which way to symbolize how his essay wandered. Notice one of his notes: This is not a paragraph.

The World's Largest Gummy Bear

Who wouldn't want 1400 gummy bears when they can have a 9 inch tall gummy bear that weighs five whole pounds. (It's prohibitively expensive to buy though, considering you can get the smaller gummy bears at cheaper prices at Costco or something.)

12,000 calories a bear.

It gave me a good laugh.

Beethoven Sonata

Beethoven's Sonata No 27 Op 90 in e is so frustratingly difficult. The first movement in its emotional complexity, and the second one it its balance and tranquility. What was he thinking with these sudden key changes, and explosions of sounds. And then the agitation in the middle before a counterpointed restatement of the 2nd motif in the exposition in C. (Oops getting slightly technical. Oh well.)

A bit like this. Actually not really. More extreme and much more deeper emotionally with actual anger/happiness/resignation/frustration. Rather than just ranting that is amusing (sorry Alex x))

Second movement's a bit easier in that respect, but still hard. Time to practice more.

On a side note, this AMV and song is stuck in my head. The AMV is cute, and the instrumentation is nice, but it's in Japanese, which  Arghh

Catching Up

It was more than a month ago when I made a decent post, so I better catch up in this small window of time I have.

Sometimes, I feel like my teachers believe that students are only taking his/her course in the school year and assign work as such. And hence, my Thanksgiving break was essentially not a true break.

Yet the small little things that make each day special do lighten it up. From marshmallow tower contests:
